This digitally stiched panoramic photo was taken in April 2005, 4 months after the devastating tsunami. In the distance can be seen Pigeon island (actually 2 small islands). Nilaveli Beach Hotel was almost totally destroyed and is now under reconstruction.
Sunrise at Nilaveli is absolutely divine.
