Yala - Leopards

Yala NP i Sri Lanka is known for having the highest concentration of leopards anywhere on the world. Even so, a visitor speding 2 or 3 days in the park has to be lucky to spot one of these sleek and beautiful, but very shy and elusive cats. In Sri Lankan jungles our Lions and Tigers are all extinct and the leopard is the top predator. He is known to boldly stroll along the beaten paths especially at dawn and dusk.
